Newborn Sessions for Cape Cod families

These first days deserve to be remembered.

In-home and outdoor newborn sessions on Cape Cod and the South Shore. Relaxed, baby-led, and designed to feel like a morning at home, not a photo shoot.

Timeless – Authentic

introduction

You’ll never see them this small again.

The curled toes.
The sleepy stretches.
The way their whole hand wraps around one finger.

The first weeks with a newborn feel both slow and impossibly fast.

Days blur together.
The house is quieter.
And suddenly your entire world has shifted.

As a Cape Cod newborn photographer, I come to you. In your home, at your Cape Cod rental, or at a quiet outdoor location, so you never have to pack up a newborn for a studio session.

During your newborn session, we slow things down.
There’s no rushing, no pressure, and no need to perform. Just your family spending time together while I gently document the tiny details that already feel precious.

The way your baby grips your finger.
The way your partner looks at them when they think no one is watching.
The way your older child leans in, curious about their brand new sibling.

These are the moments that become part of your family story.

The Experience

Calm, Baby-Led Sessions

for real life with a newborn.

Your only job is to show up and love on your baby.

From our first conversation to your final gallery, I guide you through every step.

I’ve been photographing newborns since 2009, and as a mom of three myself, I understand how tender and exhausting these early days can feel.

My job is to make this experience easy, relaxed, and meaningful for your whole family.

Even if you’re running on two hours of sleep and haven’t washed your hair…that’s okay. That’s actually part of the story.

WHAT’S INCLUDED in your newborn session

Savoring the moments to keep forever.

In-Home or Outdoor Sessions

You can choose a relaxed in-home session or we can do a beautiful outdoor session full of memories.
In-home sessions blend genuine family moments with softly styled portraits, all in the comfort of your own space.

Baby-Led Timing

Newborn sessions typically last 2 to 3 hours so there’s never any pressure to rush.
We pause whenever your baby needs to feed, settle, or be held. The entire session follows your baby’s rhythm.
Cape Cod newborn sessions are best captured in the first two weeks, when babies are still sleepy, curled, and new.

Gentle Direction

You don’t need to worry about posing or knowing what to do. I guide you through simple, natural moments that feel comfortable and authentic.

Even partners who say they hate photos usually leave the session saying it was easier than they expected.

Your Gallery

Your fully edited images are delivered in a private online gallery within 2 to 3 weeks.
From there you can download your images, share them, and order heirloom prints or albums if you’d like.

the

process

Everything handled.
Nothing to stress about.

1

Let’s talk

We’ll start with a relaxed conversation (by text or call, whatever’s easiest) to talk through your vision, your due date, and what matters most to you. No pressure, no forms. Just two people getting to know each other.

2

we plan everything

I’ll help you decide on the perfect location. As your Cape Cod newborn photographer, I’m happy to come to your home and document these precious first moments of bonding. I also know hidden spots that are breathtaking even in the height of summer, from the bay side of Brewster to the golden dunes of Sandwich. They are perfect for a newborn beach session.
I’ll also send you personalized wardrobe guidance so you feel like yourself, just elevated. You won’t have to wonder “what do I wear?” for a single second.

3

Your Session

At your session, I’ll let every moment unfold naturally, gently guiding you through each one. Expect laughter, quiet moments, and at least a few tears of the happy kind.

4

Your Gallery Arrives

Within three weeks, your hand-edited gallery lands in your inbox. Every image is finished with care. These aren’t just photos. They’re the ones you’ll print for the walls, show your baby someday, and keep for the rest of your life.

I’m so glad I found Caryn!

I always regretted not getting newborn pictures for my first child, so I was determined to do it for my second! From the start, she was incredibly responsive, helping me choose outfits and prepare for a smooth session. I was nervous my husband isn’t a fan of being photographed, and my toddler usually runs from the camera but Caryn made the entire experience effortless.
She got my husband to smile (genuinely!), kept my toddler engaged, and let me actually sit back and enjoy the session. The photos? Absolutely stunning. She captured every tiny detail, every expression, and the love we share as a family.
    We could not be happier!

From the very beginning she made everything feel easy and comfortable, which meant so much during such an emotional time.

questions + answers

Most families reserve their newborn session during the second trimester. Your due date is placed on my calendar, and once your baby arrives we confirm the exact session date.
Because I only accept a limited number of newborn sessions each month, booking early is recommended.

I provide simple wraps and neutral pieces that photograph beautifully and keep the focus on your baby.
If you have a sentimental outfit or blanket you’d like included, we can absolutely incorporate it.

That’s completely normal. Your due date simply holds space on my calendar. Once your baby arrives, you send me a quick message and we finalize the session timing.

Yes. Siblings are always welcome. We typically photograph sibling and family images first so younger children can relax once their part is finished.

The ideal window is between 5 and 14 days old, when babies are still very sleepy and naturally curl into those sweet newborn positions.
That said, beautiful images can absolutely still be created if your baby is a little older.

Newborn sessions are completely baby-led. If your baby needs to eat, be held, or take a break, we simply pause. With patience and experience, beautiful images always come together.

In-home Newborn sessions typically last 2 to 3 hours. This allows plenty of time for feeding, diaper changes, and soothing your baby so the session stays relaxed and unrushed. Outdoor Newborn Sessions are equally unrushed, but usually last around an hour, getting just as many beautiful photos.

Your fully edited gallery will be delivered within 2–3 weeks. From there you can download your images, share them with family, and order heirloom prints or albums if you’d like.
