So many of us have lost so much. We’ve been unable to mark those losses and grief has taken on a different face.So many of us have gained so much, too – graduations, births, marriages and so much more. Celebrating has turned into neighborhood affairs with drive-by acknowledgements of these milestones. On Friday, as this sweet family celebrated their joys, the neighborhood joined in, waving and enjoying the music as they passed by, or sat on their porches enjoying the gorgeous evening, and this once-in-a-lifetime event!

I don’t typically photograph weddings, but I was so thrilled when Stacey asked me to document the celebration of her and Mark’s marriage! Even though this small event was so different than what they had originally planned, Stacey managed to surprise Mark with a beautiful ceremony. Officiated by Elly Jackson, and serenaded (on Mark’s birthday, no less!) with the most beautiful singing by Carley DeFranco (website | instagram), all joined by family online. And their sweet boys! Oh my goodness…so big compared to when I did their newborn photos! Remember this?
