North Shore MA Baby Photos | Newborn + 2-Months Milestone

North Shore MA Baby Photos Through Every Stage: From Bump to Baby
One of the best parts of photographing North Shore MA baby photos is getting to watch families grow from one season to the next. I first met Sabrina and Skyler during their maternity session in Gloucester, MA, and once their baby arrived, I had the joy of documenting not just one, but two sessions. The first was when their little one was just 6 days old, surrounded by the peak fall colors. The second was at 2 months, both in their cozy home in Salem, NH—just over the Massachusetts border.
Remember this gorgeous mama at her maternity session?
Her maternity session on the beach was full of softness and emotion—two parents soaking in those last quiet days before baby. And now? The story continued, and I got to be there for the next chapters.
Because that’s the heart of what I do. I don’t just take photos—I tell stories as they unfold. And this family gave me the chance to do just that.
A Cozy Newborn Session at just 6 Days Old
Newborn sessions in those early days are something special. Their baby was still sleepy, snuggly, and curled up in that way only brand-new babies are. At 6 days old, we captured the tiniest details—soft skin, wispy lashes, fingers curled into mama’s hand.
With the fall colors blazing outside, we took advantage of the season and stepped out for a few portraits under the trees. The light was warm, the leaves were glowing, and their gallery ended up with a beautiful mix of indoors and outdoors—timing that worked out perfectly.
That’s the magic of North Shore MA baby photos—the ability to pair lifestyle moments at home with the beauty of the season outside.
Lifestyle newborn sessions like these are focused on connection. There’s no stiff posing or pressure to perform. It’s all about quiet cuddles, sleepy yawns, and the love between parents and their brand-new baby.
A 2-Month Session Full of Personality
Fast forward just eight weeks, and wow—what a transformation.
At 2 months old, their baby was alert, expressive, and full of charm. This age is such an underrated time for North Shore MA baby photos because you start to see all those emerging expressions—smiles, curious eyes, even the occasional yawn or stretch that melts your heart.
A lot of parents think if they miss the newborn window, they’ve missed their chance at baby photos. But the truth is, every stage has its own beauty. Two months is full of interaction—eye contact, reactions to mom’s voice, and the beginning of so many “firsts.”
It’s a perfect time to capture the growing bond between baby and parents, and the way a home shifts with the arrival of someone new.
What This North Shore MA Baby Photographer Experience Meant to Them
Sabrina left the most incredible testimonial on her social media – I couldn’t ask for more kind words!
I want to give a huge shoutout to @carynscanlan, our amazing photographer. 🌟
After doing a ton of research, I came across Caryn’s work online and fell in love with her photos. When I reached out to her, I found myself planning late at night, and Caryn was always so kind and responsive, no matter the hour.
Her organization was top-notch—I didn’t have to worry about a thing! Caryn came prepared with a beautiful guide to help us choose the perfect locations and color schemes. She thought of everything, from the parking situation to the bathroom situation, even researching the ideal date for the best weather and tide.
She also had fantastic ideas for our outfits and recommended some great stores. Everything went so smoothly!
We were pretty nervous about taking our pictures, especially since I’ve been feeling a bit unlike myself with all the body changes. But Caryn made us feel so comfortable, like we’d known her forever. Her positivity and fun spirit melted all our nerves away, and we found ourselves just enjoying the beautiful evening and nature, laughing and chatting with Caryn.
Honestly, I had no idea she’d capture so many beautiful moments of us. And even though I’m dealing with a swollen face, hands, and feet… I absolutely love the photos of the three of us. 👶
If you’re looking for a family photographer, I can’t recommend Caryn enough!
That trust continued into both of their North Shore MA baby photo sessions. And by the time I walked into their home for the second session, it felt more like visiting friends than working with clients. That ease and comfort always shows up in the photos.
