At Home Newborn Session

Lily is already so hugely loved and celebrated by every single member of her family. Having photographed her amazing aunt and family before, I was thrilled when they gifted her with a newborn session. I am so loving these in-home sessions! They have such a great vibe, and allow me to document everyday details.

Since Lily was just shy of 3 weeks when I first spoke to her mama, we got her on the schedule ASAP. I popped in to their home when she was 3 weeks old! Scrumptious little cheeks, all the chunky, healthy babyness, the start of her already connecting with her parents, holding her head up so beautifully! Wow. So much to be grateful for and to celebrate!

If you’re anything like me, life flies by. It’s amazing to me how the birth of a baby stops everything. The momentousness of the event opens a brief window where you can just be. Retreat from the world, focus in on this little human who is your whole world. I just love is the incredible joy and deep love that surrounds the arrival of a tiny human being. To be a part of that story, even just for a few hours, and tell a little bit of this chapter is something I don’t take for granted. It always leaves me with such joy! Like, I walk out of their home on an absolute high! LOL! I think it’s because I know that there is a treasure waiting. The images and film I have will be a treasure forever.

Being able to tell a small part of a story on video allows me to share treasure on a whole new level! It captures a depth of emotion, a tender look in the moment, and these incredible bonds in a way that just a split second moment-in-time photo can’t do. Film and photos complement each other, sharing different parts of a precious story.
